Bon Marché Company (established 1990) is a supply and trading company with importation activities and foreign companies’

representations.
Bon Marché offers the strength of a dynamic and reputable organization that is dedicated and determined to expand. The foreign companies that we represent offer the know-how, and a wide range of products.
We believe that a local highly qualified engineering, marketing and sales staff combined with a foreign excellent product line and technical support are the basic ingredients for a successful business.
First, what kind of customers we sell to ?
- Governmental Organizations / Authorities and
- Private sector companies.
For the Private sector:
We approach prospective private sector buyers using the good product line with up to date technologies, a respectful international reference list, local advertising and contributing to the local exhibition are the tools to sell to the private sector.
For the Governmental sector:
We should start with the following introduction:
There are 117 industrial parastatal companies in Egypt which are required by law to purchase their equipment through calls for tenders. Egyptian law also requires all foreign companies to retain an Egyptian commercial agent to submit bids on public sector tenders. This assures the public sector of having the latest technology, availability of spare parts and after sales support.
Foreign firms are not required to have an agent when dealing with the private sector. However, most foreign firms have found it advantageous to engage a local agent who could deal with problems related to communications, bureaucratic procedures, local business practices, and marketing.
Parastatal companies intending to purchase equipment issue calls for local and international tenders which are announced in the daily Egyptian press. Foreign firms must use an Egyptian Agent to purchase tender document’s specifications for a fee from the Egyptian public entity which issued the call for bids.
Our business plan is:
(Related to the distribution of the foreign companies’ products that we represent in Egypt)
1. Bon Marché participates aggressively in advertised government tenders. We are primarily approaching major governmental organization and participating in USAID / EEC sponsored projects.
2. Bon Marché is registered with potential customers. Such registration is important to participate in their non-advertised tenders.
3. For large scale projects; (e.g. technology transfer agreements), our business plan to help our principal to win international bids may be summarized as follows:
- Assist in obtaining the information required for making the offer / bid as competitive as possible
- Assist in the defense and negotiation of the offer / bid vis a vis the customer.
- Assist, if an order is placed, by our advice and our contacts in performance of the contract to the point of final acceptance, release of all bonds, deposits and guaranties and payment of all sums due to our principal.
As for local bids, Bon Marché will take the burden of defending and finalizing the tender with the local authorities.
